Paragliding

Paragliding is a great experience in Pokhara flying along with the Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles crossing along rivers, lakes, and villages. Trekking

Pokhara is the gateway for trekking in the Annapurna region. To the north of Pokhara are some of the greatest snow-capped mountains which are the major reason for a great Himalayan trek. Hiking

Pony Trek

Pony trek around the Pokhara Valley is very enjoying the tranquil routes which can be done for a half or full days. Pony trekking opportunities are in the places like Sarangkot, Hemja, Dhital, Old Peace Pagoda, Kalikasthan, Kaskikot etc. Riding along the sub-tropical lowlands of Pokhara in the Himalayan shadows is a great experience.

Rafting

There are also rafting opportunities in Pokhara including Kayaking. Kayaking can be done in the Fewa or Begnas lakes and raft down the Seti River is the great experience. Several snow-fed wild rivers run through Pokhara and surrounding areas making Pokhara the ideal rafting destination. Fun-filled rafting trips can be done at Trishuli, Marshyangdi, and Kali Gandaki. The grades of these rafting rivers are from +3 to +5.

Golf

There are two world-class golf courses in Pokhara; Yeti Golf Course at Fulbari Resort and Himalayan Golf Course in Chhine danda. These courses are huge with about 8 km away from the main city and are located at the most spectacular natural surroundings.

Mountain Biking

Mountain biking in Pokhara involves crossing through waterfalls, going ups and downs in treacherous slopes, passing along age-old monasteries and rice granaries. You ride through lush forests and culturally rich villages, roaring rivers with great mountain scenery on the backdrop. Dhital, Dhampus,
Naudanda, Kahun,sikle, Nirmalpokhari, Bharatpokhari, Pumdibhumdi, Kalikasthan are the popular mountain biking trails.

Butterfly & Bird Watching

11 of the world’s 15 families of butterflies and more than 500 species in Nepal. The Annapurna Museum also known as “Butterfly Museum” displays the wide range of exotic and popular colored flies. Furthermore, over 523 species of birds can be observed in Pokhara area and the best months are during October-March.

Village Tourism

Pokhara has a good potential for a village tourism at it’s culturally rich villages around the Pokhara area. Travelers can know more about the local culture and traditions in these small communities. Boating is another relaxing activity to do in Pokhara. Sailing along the tranquil lakes over the mountain shadows is really mesmerizing and beautiful experience. The popular one is boating at Fewa lake and for more peaceful and quiet boating will be at lakes like Begnas and Rupa lakes.

Fishing/ Angling

Fishing can be done on the lakes and at the confluence points of the mountain Stream Rivers where species like Sahar, Katle -Nepali fish species, crap family, eel, and catfish can be found. The best time for fishing is from June to August.
