Pokhara is the important and popular tourist destination in Nepal. It is has many natural wonders and is considered the city of lakes. This beautiful lakeside town is located between the great Himalayas and Mahabharata range in the central Nepal at an elevation of 827 meters above sea-level and about 200 km west of the Kathmandu Valley. It is the exact and the only place in the world to witness the great Himalayas having elevation above 8000 meters. The great eight thou-sanders Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu can be spotted from Pokhara; altogether there are 14 highest mountains in world which are above 8000 meters and which are known as eight thou-sanders. There are three major lakes in Pokhara city; Fewa, Begnas and Rupa lakes. Pokhara in fact is a captivating city nestled in a tranquil valley with a pace of it’s own and have that tropical feel than the other mountain regions. It is also the gateway to most of the treks into the Annapurna region.
